Health Care Program

Because without good health, no society can be self-sufficient.

At the Sharon McKenna Community Health Center in Kigutu—named after the woman whose kindness to Deo in New York set in motion the chain of events that led to the fulfillment of his dream—we treat everything from AIDS, TB, and malaria to malnutrition to noncommunicable diseases. Our primary and specialty treatment services are complemented by preventive services such as prenatal care and vaccinations. Since opening our doors in 2007, we have held more than 92,000 patient consultations. We see approximately 170 patients per day, in addition to inpatients in our 40-bed wards. Our dedicated clinical team, community health workers, and birth monitors also provide invaluable follow-up and wider community health advocacy efforts.
